*Insert Hip Thrusting Here* | Montana Durand

Final Project

I wanted to produce something that would lighten spirits during this trying time. I drew on comedy and jokes as my source of entertainment while also finding a way to incorporate a dynamic way to present what I shot. The majority of my editing was in camera. I planned it all out on paper first and then moved to shooting. Prep work helped a lot so that I knew exactly what I was doing. This made editing and small tweaks very easy to do in a timely manner. I had so much fun shooting this and I hope you all enjoy!

  1. This was SO funny!! Thank you for brightening up my evening! I'm not sure exactly who this reminds me of, but it brings me back to when Vine was around. This makes for good internet content! Have a great break and stay safe!

  3. In an classes I've had with you, you have shown your light hearted nature. I love the pop-culture of it, as it reminds me of certain tiktoks. I am excited to see what you go on to produce.

  4. How you shot and edited your video was really well done. Keeping the continuity of your subject with different cloths for his different characters. Matching the dance with music in editing. Transitions were well done, kept me entertained. I believe you met your goal in cheering up our spirits.

  5. Love how you were able to capture the beat with song to the movement of the people in the video to create a playful video. Loved how the other person joined in with the main person, it really showed that once you do something, other people will start to join in as well.

  6. Love how playful the film was! It seems both you and the actor were having fun recording. Wonderful transitions, especial when you were stepping away from his torso.

  7. I appreciate how many clothing changes you would've needed to do between filming! I certainly cracked a smile for the first time in a while. The orientation of the video refers to cell phone filming, but I wonder if this choice intentional? So much of me really wanted this to go on for more time, and I wondered if there was another way to wrap this act up?

I would recommend the work of performance artist Bridget Moser... her work is hilarious and unsettling, firmly situated within internet culture. You can view her website here: http://www.bridgetmoser.com/
